Title: SUMMER GRILLIN' RECIPE...
WOW! We finally had great weather for a show...sunny, a little breeze...no rain, no strong winds...no tornado sirens..lol!! Could we be lucky enough to have nice weather at the rest of our shows??!! Speaking of shows, we have added a couple of new ones to our schedule this year: August 9 & 10: MENDOTA, IL SWEET CORN FESTIVAL Nov 28-30: EAST PEORIA, IL FOLEPI'S CHRISTMAS CRAFT SHOW
Also, and I am SO excited about this..... look for us the next 3 ISSUES OF COUNTRY SAMPLER MAGAZINE!!
Hope you all had a great 4th of July weekend.... and here is a great summer recipe you should try:
Serve this hearty oregano-acccented meal with pita bread and a tossed spinach salad! GREEK CHICKEN AND VEGETABLES
4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves 2 cups fresh (or frozen) cut green beans or 1 15-oz can, drained 1 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes with garlic and onion 2 tsp dried oregan leaves 1 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper aluminum foil 4 oz crumbled Feta cheese
Cut chicken into strips. Toss with beans, tomatoes, oregano, salt & pepper. Center 1/4 of the chicken mixture on each of 4 sheet of foil. Bring up foil sides. Double fold top and end to seal, leaving room for heat circulation inside.
Place packets on grill over med-hot coals/flame. Grill, covered 10-15 minutes or til chicke in cooked through (160*F) and veggies are tender-crisp. Open packets and sprinkle chicken mixture with cheese and enjoy! You can also bake packets in 450 F for 20 2-5 minutes or till done.
Makes 4 servings.
BLESSINGS!

Title: let's see....
Hi, all. Have been SO-O-O busy don't know whether I'm coming or going... but I'm alway going...somewhere..lol. We took a trip to Wisconsin a couple of weeks back to visit a gift show, see what's new, and picked up some new goodies. (You'll be seeing some of them on the website next week. We also went to Indianopolis on a buying trip and loaded up there too, so we have LOTS of NEW stuff for you to see! Our first show in Bloomington went well. Everyone was a little nervous cuz of the gas prices, but didn't seem to stop people from coming... the crowd was huge! The next show is Fathers' Day (Happy Dad's day, Rick!) and am hoping we don't get rained out. So, somewhere between running the shop, packing for shows, road trips and making crafts..... I am trying to get organized for our annual PARKING LOT SALE is in the works...no set date yet though. There will be lots of spring/summer stuff at great prices. We need to clear it out so we can bring in FALL. ( May seem a little early but at least we don't have Christmas out already, like I have seen in a couple of the big box stores.... ) On the home front, we have more new additions to our family. My son just found a litter of kittens in Ricks' bass boat.... and my soft-hearted hubby decided we should keep them..... (just clone me now, please!)...lol Til next time.. Judy

Title: come on in...
Hello all and welcome to our new online shop and my new blog. Just wanted to take a minute to say "Hello" and later would like to share the goings on of our shop, shows, share a recipe or craft tip, maybe a laugh or two. We opened our storefront about 2 years ago. We do several show throughout the summer, opened our web store just a couple of months ago...and for some unknown reason, I thought, "Yes! I have time to write a blog!" My family is one of crafters and collectors... from woodworking, decorative painting, sewing, quilting, log carving and metal working...and everything in between, some relative along the way has done it! So I have to thank my Dad and Mom for instilling the love of creating ...it was more 'making do' back then...in all of us. We did it then out of necessity...we do it now out of love. Well, I hope you enjoyed the time you spent here and that you will come back from time to time to see what's happening here...from the Heart. Blessings, Judy
